Lund, British Columbia

Lund is a small fishing/tourist town just 30-minutes north of Powell River, British Columbia. It is known, however, for a few things. First, it is the beginning or end of Route 101 (depending if you're going North or South, of course), which in one form or another goes all the way to Patagonia. Then there is the docks with fishing and cruises to Desolation Sound. A hotel and restaurant look right over the waterfront, and there are a number of galleries where you can buy local crafts and other art. And if you go there, you must go to Nancy's Bakery and try their amazing glazed buns.

Across the Ferry from Comax on Vancouver Island is the thriving town of Powell River, on mainland, BC. It is known as the Sunshine Coast. We stayed in a house inland near the top of a mountain, and went into town to play in the waterfront park. We also visited a rocky beach on a bay across from Larson's Landing, where there were lots of sea life that we had the chance to investigate.

We looked but didn't find the troll who lived under this...

Strangest clam I've ever seen!
